Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve wanted to be an artist. There was magic in the way my grandma used brushstrokes to suggest the forms of trees, rivers, and mountains; the way my brother would invent elaborate characters from imagination. Art was our place of wonder and connection, one that I grew to share with many friends over the years. As I grew older, the dream of motherhood came into view.
